Oregon OSHA has developed a new Hazard Communication guide: Oregon OSHA's quick guide to hazard communication for the general industry.  This user-friendly guide is for small business owners who want to know how to comply with our hazard communication rules for general industry. This guide is available at:  http://www.orosha.org/pdf/pubs/4802.pdf

Many companies are now engaged in wellness programs for their employees, but this is obviously an area that we need to continue to keep in front of people (and one in which we will need to develop further resources). A recent article by the NCCI can be found at:

*The excellent Professional Safety magazine that ASSE members receive is now archived and available on line. All articles dating from January 2000 to the present are available. The index is searchable by author, date of issue, topic,   and keyword. Full issues of the magazine from January 2005 are available in   PDF format through the ASSE "Members Only" web site at:

“SAFETY AND HEALTH FAVORITES”

One of the benefits of belonging to the ASSE safety community is the opportunity to learn from other safety professionals and share information. Recently, I asked several of my ASSE favorites to list their “go to” resources and web sites. In the internet age, the amount of information is almost overwhelming – and many sites are less than reputable. It helps to ask seasoned, trusted colleagues for the resources they find to be most credible and useful. I’ve compiled the following list with the help of Chris Lawrence of Knife River; Mike Hill of Timber Products Spectrum; Susan Riehlman of Jackson County Roads and Parks; Mark Hurliman of Oregon OSHA; and Heather Grogan of Workers’ Compensation Division.
